Jake Erland is a London-based DOP and Director. He started shooting skate videos at 17, which then evolved to include music videos and fashion films, helped along by a fruitful collaboration with Palace. Jake aims to create characterful imagery, from which every frame could work as a still, while clever transitions also come into play. His core inspirations sit in 90s–00s fashion photography and 80s–90s cinema. “I always think I’m lucky to work in a time where I can be inspired by that period and use modern cinema technology to expand on ideas, taking the style of an image and pushing it even further.” His clients include Dior, Adidas, Tommy Hilfiger, Zara, Palace, Vans, Louis Vuitton, On Running, and music videos for Olivia Dean, Beabadoobee and Shygirl.
